Desmond Nazareth spent two decades travelling India in search of indigenous spirits and the environments that make their ingredients possible. DesmondJi is the distilling expression of that fieldwork.
After 18 years in the United States, Nazareth returned to India in 2000. His background spans entrepreneurship, engineering, and film, but his current work is grounded in local spirit traditions. DJ Mahua is inspired by the Mahua tree and the tribal knowledge surrounding it, then made in small-batch pot stills at the brand's craft distillery.
